All of our counselors have formal training in certified biblical counseling programs and each is involved in consistent continuing education.
Crystal Santos (ACMHC)
Crystal Santos is our director of counseling. She earned her master’s degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, women’s issues, personal identity, same-sex attraction, families, children, teens, parenting, grief/loss, and spiritual growth and development. She is experienced in individual, marital, premarital, and family therapy and is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH premarital and marital counseling facilitator. She strives to help people understand the root of their problems as they travel down the road toward solutions. Crystal believes her role is not just a vocation but a calling from God, and she loves taking a back seat to watching Him powerfully work in people’s lives. She enjoys singing, running, cooking, traveling, being outdoors, talking over coffee, and spending time with her husband, Jonathan, and their two children.
Benjamin Pierce received his master’s of divinity with an emphasis in biblical counseling at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing biblical counseling certification through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and has also received prior training through the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy. Benjamin’s counseling specialities include men’s issues in marriage and family leadership, addiction, pornography, depression, domestic violence and abuse, and spiritual transformation. He is passionate about Christ-centered counseling and battling the pain in people’s lives with the healing power of God’s Word. Benjamin is married to Berlynn and they enjoy hiking with their two children, camping in Utah’s backcountry, gardening, attending plays and musicals, and discovering historical treasures in nearby national parks.
Karissa Watts studied biblical counseling with the late Jerry Meade (LCSW), former director of counseling and founder of Lifeline Christian Counseling Center. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in intercultural religious studies from Trinity Western University and is avidly pursuing biblical counseling certification through the Association of Biblical Counselors. Prior to her role as a lay biblical counselor, Karissa’s experience includes abstinence education/counseling with Pregnancy Resource Center of Salt Lake City as well as foster parenting with Rise Services. She also serves as missions co-director at Lifeline Community and a leader in women’s discipleship. Karissa has a heart of compassion that seeks to bring hope and healing to hurt and heartache. She enjoys hiking and trail-running with her husband, Matt, traveling anywhere and everywhere possible, and trying new restaurants.
Jeff Langworthy earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from California Coast University. With over 21 years of experience in a wide array of social service programs, Jeff has worked for several outpatient and residential programs focused on teens and adults with behavioral problems, severe mental health issues, and substance abuse struggles. In addition to his part-time vocation as a lay biblical counselor, Jeff works full-time as a crisis and substance abuse counselor. He is pursuing biblical counseling certification with the Association of Biblical Counselors and is also a certified parent trainer through Boys Town's Common Sense Parenting program. Jeff and his wife, Athena, are passionate about meeting the needs of children and have provided foster care to several children in California, Nevada, and Utah. They have three children, one of whom was adopted through the Utah foster care system.
